COUNTRY GUIDE CHILE

Private jet charter and flights to Chile

A long sliver of landmass nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes, Chile might not look like much on the map next to its neighbour, Argentina, but this South American country is host to a remarkable collection of natural wonders. With the Andes Mountains, Atacama Desert, geysers, volcano-rimmed lakes, glaciers and an endless coastline, there’s lots here for intrepid explorers to explore. Air Charter Service can help you charter flights to Chile so you can spend as much time as possible exploring its glorious beaches, instead of queueing in airports.

The Andes is the world’s longest mountain range and boasts the highest peaks in the Western Hemisphere. Mount Aconcagua, on the border between Argentina and Chile, is the highest point at 22,841 ft. In the town of San Pedro de Atacama, situated high up on a plateau, you can ride horses through sand dunes and visit turquoise lagoons. If heights aren’t your thing, explore one of Chile’s 30 national parks, which are populated by wildlife including llamas, alpacas, elephant seals and several endangered species. The southerly Torres del Paine National Park is one of the most stunning, with its glassy lakes and dramatic mountains. Above it lies Laguna San Rafael National Park, home to the otherworldly San Rafael Glacier; while on Chile’s northern tip you can spot animals grazing against a backdrop of ice-capped mountains in Lauca National Park.

In Chile’s capital, Santiago, you can visit the fascinating museums such as the Fine Arts Museum and the National Museum of Natural History, before taking a break in main square the Plaza de Armas. The country’s second largest and most beautiful city is Valparaiso, which features a picturesque port and colourful hillside houses overlooking the Pacific.

You can't go to Chile without visiting Easter Island, which is home to 887 stone moai statues carved by ancient Polynesians in the 13th Century. These magnificent monolithic human figures are a staggering testament to their creators’ unique culture and were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Easter Island’s remote location is easily reachable by private jet charter from other mainline airports in Chile.

Wine lovers should visit wineries like Santa Rita, Cousiño Macul and Concha y Toro. Chile is loved globally for its red wine, including pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon, and the country’s wine growing industry has been heavily influenced by its Spanish colonial past and French immigration. Follow the wine route to wander through dense vineyards which cross mountains, stopping along the way to drink great wine and eat delicious food at family-owned restaurants.
